Past

Quintin Devone was born to Michael Devone and Kristana Matters inside a hospital in a small town just north of San Diego, California. It was clear to everyone that Michael loved his son more than anything within the world. He hovered over the golden eyes infant like he was the center of his universe, and perhaps in many ways he was. Both, Michael and Kristana talked about their plans after leaving the hospital. They had big dreams--both for themselves and their new born son.

Tragedy, however, struck the happy family shorty after they left the hospital. Their car was hit by a semi as it was entering onto the freeway. Michael had been killed on impact, Kristana seriously injured, and Quintin aside from being shaken had not a single scratched upon him. They were rushed to the hospital they had just left. Kristana was rushed to the operating room to receive surgery to heal the damage caused by the accident, but no one had any idea if she would wake up from the coma that she had fallen into.

The hospital staff begun to look for numbers for any friend or family of Kristana that would be willing to take Quintin temporary--if not permanently if the worse case scenario came to pass. The only number they found, however, belonged to a man named Nickolos Dalton, but they weren't certain if the number actually belonged to anyone. They called it in a vain hope that someone would pick up. Not only did someone pick up, but the person on the other line was more than willing to drive to the hospital and take care of Quintin.

Nickolos became a constant fixture at the hospital. He would be found next to Kristana's bed, with Quintin in toll, talking about his development and every milestone that he reached. The months drifted by until Kristana awoke to find, much to her shock, Nickolos holding her baby boy. The two of them got talking. They had been high school sweet hearts. At first, their conversation centered around Quintin but slowly they begun to discuss old times and how they both still had feeling for each other. They decided to get back together and were married a short while later.

Two years later, Kristana gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Adya Jessica Dalton, or Jessie as she prefers to be called. It was clear from an early age that Quin and Jessie were close. At first, he helped his parents take care of his sister in the best way he could by holding her bottle, or petting her head in order to sooth her when she became upset. Then, after Jessie learned how to walk, she begun to follow him around mimicking everything he did. They were always together, and it might have continued this way if their parents haven't decided that they no longer loved each other and gotten a divorce when Quin was eight.

Neither Jessie or Quin suspect that the divorce would mean that they would be living in different houses, but they learned how wrong they had been when it was finalized. Jessie went to live with dad while Quin stayed with mom. Yet, in spite residing inside different houses, Quin and his sister remained extremely close. They were often times found hanging out together--much to the astonishment of those around them. They had thought that their difference would have pulled them apart instead of bring them together. Jessie was outgoing while Quin was reserved--almost painfully so.

Quin, however, managed to have several girlfriend throughout the years ,despite his reserved nature, until he eventually met the one he said was 'the one.' He begun to spend less time with his sister and more and more time with his new girlfriend, but Jessie didn't seem to mind. In fact, she was happy for her brother and was one of the few people that didn't think they were too young when they announced their engagement while still in high school. Their marriage would never come to pass.

Quintin had decided to stop by a party to catch up with a friend who was visiting town while he was away from college. He got distracted by reminiscing about old times that he forgot to pick up his fiancee from work. It wasn't until he received the phone call that he remembered. She had decided to walk home alone and was brutally raped and beaten by a gang of boys. Quin immediately rushed to the hospital to be by her side, and to keep himself from wandering the streets in order to beat the shit out of the ones that did this to her, in order to alleviate his own guilt.

He stayed beside her for countless hours until the hospital staff told him to go home, and get some rest. Quintin reluctantly agreed, but he didn't go home. Instead, he went on the quest he had tried to avoid while he sat next to his hurt fiancee's bed. However, he wouldn't find those that had hurt her nor would he return home. His sister's friend pulled along side Quintin within his car. Quintin and he didn't really get along, but Quin did like the way that the other treated his sister. In fact, Jessie was the only person that the male showed any amount of decency towards.

He made a comment on how tired Quin looked and offered to give him a ride, but Quintin ignored him. He had a mission to complete. It wasn't until his sister's friend yelled at him to stop being a stubborn pig headed male--even though it was impossible--and get his ass into the car that Quin paid any attention to what the other had said. Quin, whom was too tired to argue, obediently climbed into the back seat of the car and fell sound asleep as soon as his head touched the seat.

He, however, didn't wake up in his own bed or still in the back of the car. He woke up inside a secret lab. It appeared that Jessie's friend had many secrets and one of them was conducting horrible experiments upon various people they stole off the street. Each lab had their own goal, and this lab's goal was to create the perfect weapon. They wished to create a weapon that not only could think on its own without anyone pushing the right button, but also could enter an area without raising the suspicion that it was a tool of mass destruction.

The experiments were painful. It was the most excruciating thing Quin have ever endured. In fact, in order to flee the torment he allowed himself to escape to the cool embrace of unconsciousness. His torture went on for some time until one day those conducting the experiments declared that they did all they could. They had clearly made him into something beyond a mere mortal. Now, the real question was whether he would prove to be a failure like the countless experiments that came before him.

He went beyond their expectation. He passed every test they gave him with flying color. He was the perfect killing machine, the ultimate weapon. He successfully completed every mission they sent him on. Then he lost his memories. They took this as a sign that he was degrading and decided to dispose of him in the same manner that that one might a broken tool. However, Quin proved to them that even a damaged gun can kill. He killed every last person within the lab before blowing the place up and escaping into the night.

He wandered the streets for awhile with no real purpose or even a place to go. He would find both when Kalia stumbled upon him. Kalia was a leader of a secret organization called Angel Dust. It was a group of supernatural investigator whose purpose was to protect mankind against the things they believed were pure fantasy while keeping them from realizing the truth. She knew that he wasn't human, but what he was she couldn't say. He was unlike anything she had encountered before.

The only information that he was able to provide her was the name 'Quintin Devone.' It was a name that should have lead him back to his family in California, but when Kalia typed the name into her search engine nothing came up. Every record of him very existence had been erased. Kalia found something bizarre about the entire thing, and promised Quintin to help him figure out the truth of who and what he was. He agreed to let her help him, but he wasn't willing to accept the offer for free.

Kalia, knowing that he had no other way of paying for her services, offered him a job as one of her agent. The only thing was that he was required to go into the field with a partner. Quin agreed. He had no reason not to. A few moments later Alec Sancora walked into the room. The two of them hit it off right away becoming fast friends and eventually lovers. They completed many missions together until Alec decided to betray them.

It started out as a routine vampire mission. They were suppose to go into the vampire's lair, kill whatever blood sucker(s) that was inside and get out. There was no reason to suspect that there was anything off about it. Even Alec's suggesting that he sneak through the back while Quin kicked down the front down didn't raise any alarm bell's inside Quintin's head. It was something they had done countless time before.

However, this time Quintin found that he walked into a trap when he entered that lair. He was immediately chained to the wall and rendered powerless. The worse part of it all was seeing Alec standing there. Alec begun to inform Quin how he had grown tired of Angel Dust's 'Nicey nice' ways and decided to join an organization that was more suitable towards his disposition. He asked Quintin to join him. He remember how Quintin had said he enjoyed the hunt. That there was nothing like blood upon his face, and the sweet sensation of pain as the enemy harmed him--only to return the favor. It was a high like none other he felt before.

Quintin made no attempt to deny these words, but he refused to join Alec. He declared that it wouldn't be fun if the ones he was hunting and killing were mere mortal. This was not something that Alec wished to hear. He became angry and told the vampire closest to him to kill him. The vampire quickly obeyed this order, and cut Quintin's chest open in order to rip his heart out. He could have simply just tore his heart out, but Alec wanted him to suffer a little before dying.

Just before the vampire could actually manage to grab a hold of Quintin's beating heart, Kalia entered the scene and sent everyone inside running for the hills. She took Quintin back to the headquarters where he receive treatment for his injuries. He awake a few week later to find Kalia beside his bed. She asked him what had happened, and he explained it all. He also told her that he wasn't going to work with anyone again. He was a one man team, and if she didn't like it he would leave Angel Dust. He didn't care if she found the answers he sought.

Kalia agreed to these terms, but it was impossible to tell if it was guilt or a belief that when he healed completely from his injuries that he might reconsider his stance that allowed her to agree to them. Quintin slipped in and out of consciousness over the next few weeks until all the wounds he had received from Alec's betrayal was healed--expect for one. There is a scar running from the base of his neck, down his chest and onto his abdomen. It is strange that it haven't healed completely when all other injuries that he had received since being found by Katia had. They believe that it has something to do with the fact he nearly died that day.

He return to the field shortly afterwards, and just like they discussed he works alone. Though, this isn't due from a lack of effort on Kalia's part to find him a new partner. She sent countless potential partner in hopes that Quin would decide to take a liking to one, but things don't go according to plan. Quin didn't always openly dismiss them, but many of his 'new ' partners do ask to be reassigned. Kalia accuses him of making them hate him on purpose, and Quin tells her that it isn't his fault that they don't understand his sense of humor.

Present

Kalia and Quintin has grown closer since Alec's betrayal. In fact, Quin is rather fond of her. It might be even said that he loves her. She one of the few people whose opinion he seem to value--even if he isn't always great at heeding them and she often times serves as his conscience. He will sometimes find himself thinking what her opinion of a situation might be, and shifting his action to something that'll meet her approval. He has taken many jobs during this time, and have met many different people--all interesting in their own right.

Most recently, he has met a young woman by the name of Jessica. He has no idea that they are related. All he knows is that he feels a deep connection to her. He feels that he can trust her. A fact that has him unnerved because the last time he felt that he can trust someone he had his heart almost literally ripped out of his chest. There is even some part of him waiting for Kalia to betray him. However, in spite these thoughts, he cannot help wanting to spend a lot of time with his new friend and Kalia. He even provide Kalia with substance. The leader of his organization has a specific diet that she finds difficult to satisfy due to one reason or another, and Quintin is more than happy to shove her food down her throat if need be.
